Fortnite — UEFN Team Project

Puerto Pastora

Level Design — Battle Royale Point of Interest
The Project

Four level designers, one thematically consistent island.

The goal was to create a set of Fortnite Points of Interest in UEFN that work together to form a thematically and narratively consistent area. Each level designer was responsible for their own POI and its immediate surrounding space — POIs had to connect to each other in logical ways, with designers collaborating directly to fill the terrain between each one.

Work alongside other level designers while keeping narrative and thematic elements consistent.

Gain experience in an engine outside of just Unreal Engine 5.

Create areas that seamlessly connect to another level designer's level.

Build transitionary zones that maintain smooth gameplay between POIs.

My Contribution

Puerto Pastora — the island's vibrant coastal town.

The island draws from Central America: rigid, imposing Spanish colonial stone collides with the overgrown ruins of an ancient empire, shifting from long-range fights at the cliffside fortress of Fortaleza Fuego to chaotic close-quarters combat near the coast. Puerto Pastora is that final beat — the vibrant, cobblestoned streets of a rural coastal town, anchored by a galleon docked just offshore, giving players a dense, colorful space to loot and rotate through after crossing in from the jungle.

I owned Puerto Pastora's layout end to end: loot placement, cover density, and the docks connecting it out to the water, while coordinating with the rest of the team so it read as part of the same island as Fortaleza Fuego, Sacrifice Summit, and Pirate Cove.

Note: the top-down map above was made pre-blockout, before final layout passes in-engine.
